Welcome to the 50th NES conference
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 50th Annual Conference of the Nordic Ergonomics and Human Factor Society (NES) and Vinnís (The Icelandic Ergonoomic Society), we would like to welcome you to Reykjavik for the Conference 24 – 27 June 2018. The Conference will be held in Harpa, Reykjavik´s spectacular Concert Hall and Conference Centre, located by the harbour in downtown Reykjavik.
On 24 June we will have a magical Get-together. Jónsmessa, also known as Midsummer Night, is an Icelandic holiday celebrated on 24 June. It is named after John the Baptist. According to Icelandic folklore, cows gain the powers of speech, seals become human, and it is healthy to roll naked in the dew-covered grass on Jónsmessa. Icelandic folklore also states that if you sit at a crossroads where all four roads lead to separate churches all night, elves will attempt to seduce you with food and gifts.
The Conference theme is Entrepreneurship in Ergonomics and Human Factors but will also be a big birthday party to celebrate the 50 years of NES Conferences. We will have the chance to meet young and old entrepreneurs and enjoy each others company, make new connections and have a nice time together in a beutifull and inspiring environment.
Last but not least, the spectacular, unspoiled nature of Iceland will be there to welcome you. We are looking very much forward to seeing you at the 50th Anniversary NES Conference.
